Against the backdrop of the domestic "dual carbon" strategy, green development has become the foundation for enterprise transformation and development.
Vigorously developing photovoltaic and wind power is a necessary path to achieve the dual carbon goal, and energy storage is a necessary supporting means to solve the instability of photovoltaic and wind power. Electrochemical energy storage has the advantages of high efficiency, fast response speed, and being not limited by geographical environment. It is suitable for smooth processing of wind and solar power generation on the supply side, as well as for energy management on the demand side. However, due to the limited reserves of lithium resources and the continuous expansion of downstream demand with the development of the new energy industry, coupled with factors such as the pandemic and global politics, lithium prices remain high, and the cost of lithium batteries has significantly increased, bringing enormous pressure to the industrial chain.


Due to the advantages of rich resources, low cost, high security and so on, Sodium-ion Battery and vanadium Flow battery have attracted great attention. In July 2021, the CATL released a generation of Sodium-ion battery, and the energy density of single cell has reached 160Wh/kg; In July 2022, the world's first GWh Sodium-ion battery production line of Zhongke Haina Fuyang was completed; In October 2022, the 100 megawatt all vanadium Flow battery energy storage and peak shaving power station designed and manufactured by Rongke Energy Storage Co., Ltd. with large power and capacity so far in the world will be officially connected to the grid for power generation. In addition, enterprises such as Sodium Innovative Energy, Zhongna Energy Technology, Cubic New Energy and Rongbai Technology will lay out Sodium-ion battery and key materials, while enterprises such as Pangang Group Vanadium Titanium&Resources Vanadium Titanium, Weilide and Jinyang Energy Storage will lay out vanadium Flow battery. Several projects will be put into production annually in the next two years. It is expected that Sodium-ion battery and vanadium battery will be commercialized in 2023.
